“FIRST FRIDAYS” x DOWNTOWN PHOENIX

November 7th, 2009 | By All Day

So let me explain a little bit about “First Fridays”. Every first Friday evening of each month you can take a free self-guided tour of downtown Phoenix galleries, studios and art spaces.

First Friday is organized by Artlink, a nonprofit organization “…dedicated to bringing together artists, the public, and businesses for a greater understanding, appreciation, and promotion of the arts and the development of a strong and vital downtown Phoenix arts community.”

With that said, a couple of scholars and I decided to check this place out for a research paper we have to conduct describing cultural awareness. I had a great time, awesome experience. I will definitely be attending these events more often. Especially since they are held literally behind my apartment complex.

FIRST DAY x ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY

August 24th, 2009 | By All Day

Today was the first day back to school; I am a Junior. My first two years in college, I attended ASU Main, which is located in Tempe, Az. This year, I am attending ASU Downtown, which is in downtown phoenix. Downtown is definitely a smaller campus than Main, however, I already have a feeling I will be liking this campus over Main. My first and only class for today was at 5:40pm, Sports Management (PRM 368). Professor seems very outgoing, I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this class fairly well. Cheers for the new semester!
