Album will be placed on hold until Wayne comes out of jail, says T-Pain.
Wayne has been receiving special treatment from Riker’s corrections officers, in fact, two Riker’s Island prison guards have already been written up for bending the prison’s rules for Weezy:
“…A couple of guards have been written up, only because they’ve acted like fans, having more personal interaction with Wayne than is procedure, prolly acting all star struck, which, once again, the system does it’s best to discourage… For the most part though, Wayne has been pretty quiet, staying mostly inside his jail cell. There doesn’t seem to be anyone, any faction trying to get at him in any harmful way, because he’s new and because he hasn’t violated any of the codes customary to inmate living the prison life. As I was told, it’s too early to determine how the rest of his experience will be, but so far, so good. It’s all in Lil Wayne’s hands.“
Prior to yesterday’s reports from tmz.com, Lil Wayne was said to be serving out his one-year gun charge at Rikers Island under protective custody…. it turns out the rap superstar will be treated like any other inmate, not in protective custody.
What is going to happen with his music career? Will he be able to record while in prison? Will we be hearing any new music from Wayne while in Prison? Will his sentencing influence his music genre and lyrics? Who is going to run Young Money? Will Young Money fall behind?
What do you think about this issue?
Wayne was arrested in 2007 when a police officer boarded his tour bus, after smelling marijuana. Once inside the vehicle she caught the rapper with a .40 caliber handgun. Last October he entered a guilty plea in order to receive lesser jail time. He was sentenced and immediately shipped off to Rikers yesterday, after several failed attempts. With good behavior the Young Money general may be home in eight months.
Real talk, Lil’ John makes excellent points.
It has come to light that an individual or groups of individuals have been contracting and advertising false bookings of Drake for financial gain. These individuals misrepresent themselves as management affiliates of Drake in order to secure and pocket deposits for false bookings and club appearances.
Here’s a statement from Drake:
It has been brought to my attention that false promoters and booking agents are illegally using my name and likeness to promote concerts and club appearances for their own financial gain. It is frustrating for me to hear that many of my fans, who like myself are innocent victims in these scams, have been misled due to the greed of these promoters. I apologize to any fan that has been a victim of these circumstances or feels let down by false advertising. Please be assured that my team and I take these matters seriously and are actively cooperating with authorities. I cannot thank my fans enough for supporting my music and all that I do.
Drake, who is co-managed by Bryant Management and Hip Hop Since 1978, is booked solely by International Creative Management (ICM); any party interested in booking Drake can contact ICM at (310) 550-4000.
As an avid listener of Music, i love mostly all genre’s; Mainly hip-hop & rap is what i’m bumping via my Zune by Microsoft. But Mr. Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham is something special. He has a few mix-tapes out, and 2 Grammy awards. Not one album. Granted, So Far Gone should have been an album in it’s entirety.
He had the potential to be the first to really do it. He had the forces, artists, team and movement behind him. He possessed a unique mix being clean-cut enough to get the corporate brands drooling, while still credible enough in the streets to be respected. Drake had the opportunity to completely change the landscape of the music business, yet at the end of the day stopped one step short from becoming a true pioneer.

See what I have to say.
