This weekend was an awesome experience, it was Sigma Lambda Beta’s annual picnic/football game with our brothers from Kappa Alpha Chapter (University of Arizona, in Tucson Arizona) Vs. Chi Beta Chapter (Arizona State University, in Tempe Arizona). We began our day by hosting a cook out at Papago Park, next to the Phoenix Zoo. We had delicious Hamburgers and Hot Dogs along with all sorts of chips and salads. Further down the day, we moved to another location where we played football. Of course, I was feeling a bit tired, so I took a nap while in the second quarter of the game. Unfortunately, our chapter lost on overtime, but overall, I had a great time…. p/s can you spot me out in our group photo?
As most of you all are aware, my cohort and I are fundraising for our trip to Washington DC for March 2011, our senior year. We recently conducted a 50/50 raffle which was held all throughout the month of February until this past Friday, March 5th. We sold 1,200 tickets at a dollar each with the intentions of keeping have of the money raised and raffling three winners with the other half, 1st place winning $300 dollars, 2nd place winning $200, and 3rd place winning $100. Congratulations to all three winners and everyone else who supported this fundraiser!
Amount Fundraised thus far: ~$1,000
Amount Need as a cohort: ~$11,000
At the moment, I am doing extremely well in my academics. Furthermore, this weeks accounts most of my midterms. I hope I am able to score high and retain my same grades…

This past weekend on Saturday, my scholarship donor, Mr. and Mrs. Doran, took our entire cohort on a special event “Dress for Success” at Saks Fifth Avenue located at the Biltmore Mall in Phoenix. It was here where we had the privileged to get a tour of the store before it opens and get a behind the scene look of how it is run. We where also given tips and lectures of how to dress for success in the business world. Great advise was learned from this event, it was definitely a great event to attend. Thank you Saks. After the event, our cohort was invited for a luncheon over at California Pizza, courtesy of the Dorans. Shout out to the Dorans who make all of this possible, thank you.
Summer Bridge… Let me just tell you, this is an excellent program that I, without a doubt, recommend to anyone who meets the qualifications. Raidz and I attended Summer Bridge in 2007 right after completing high school at Maryvale. From my personal experience, Summer Bridge really sets up that kick and understanding of what the college life is really like. I can definitely say I had an awesome experience.. If you are eligible to attend this program, I recommend you do so. The cost is minimum and the gain is huge.
Summer Bridge assists first-semester freshmen in making a successful transition from high school to college. Through Summer Bridge, students become acclimated to campus life at ASU, gain access to student support programs and services, and learn effective academic skills.
Summer Bridge students can earn up to 7 academic credits during a five-week summer session, where smaller class sizes, tutoring, and structured study sessions help contribute to their success. Living on campus, students build a sense of community and develop a network of peers. Students also benefit from their interactions with faculty, tutors, peer mentors, residential staff, and program staff.
Summer Bridge 2010 will take place July 5-August 6, 2010. Eligible students planning to attend any ASU campus may apply. Please review eligibility requirements before submitting an application.

Our Human Sexuality Professor allowed us to pair up in partners and create a 3-D model of either a vulva or penis for extra credit. This class is definitely interesting, one learns so much. What I am enjoying most out of this class is being educated on proper terms and functions of the body.
Hello everyone! Good Morning! It feels so long since I have posted anything on here, when in reality it has only been one day! But moreover, I have been extremely occupied with my studying. There is one class I am taking which very time consuming in regards of the reading material request, but of course, your boy A_D always has everything under control. My passion is music, but I have to settle in my priority first. Education is the key! Enough with my two cents motivation. I have some hooks and verses recorded. By the way, my family is still here at my apartment. I feel super excited and good inside. I had miss them sooooo much, if I had not expressed thoroughly. I really hope they can stay…
What fantastic news I received in the mail today! Last academic semester I was hunting the Internet for possible scholarships and/or grants to assist in funding my higher education at Arizona State University. After a couple of months and having applied for numerous scholarships, I finally received a letter in the mail from the Wayland Educational Foundation Scholarship! Great news! I am the recipient of their scholarship!
As most of you all are aware, I have recently became a member of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated, Chi Beta Chapter, which is a social fraternity based in Arizona State University. Moreover, today was our first semester meeting were we gathered together to discuss our future planning toward our academic semester. After being involved with one of these meetings for the first time, I can gladly say I was proud of being a part of it and having a say in the table’s discussion. Their meetings are held in a very business like orientation and get straight toward their purpose intended. However, I was told today’s meeting was held out longer than usual; and that is because it was the first meeting of the semester. Few, gracious toward that! The meeting initiated at 8pm and ended around 11:30pm! Now, finally at home and feeling anxious to go to bed; have class in the morning. Goodnight all!
Last night was Gamma Alpha Omega’s 17th Anniversary Ball. The means for their ceremony was to celebrate and recognize their vast accomplishments and hard efforts toward their organization and the community. The ball was held at the Four Points Hotel in Tempe, which was a great place to host this event. The Ball scheduled a motivated guest speaker and a performance by The National Break Dancing League. Although I had a huge headache throughout the day, I had a great time last night. Congratulations ladies.
