CRISIS NURSERY x VOLUNTEERING

This past week I went over to Crisis Nursery, a foster care center in Phoenix, Arizona, where I am an active volunteer. I volunteered about three hours of my day interacting with the children at the facility. We spent most of our time coloring books while watching Jorge of the Jungle and drinking watermelon Kool-Aid. Afterward, we played a multitude of board games, such as Guess Who?, Candy Land, Checkers, Sorry, Connect Four, and Dominos.

The hours of volunteering I do at the facility are timeless, I love spending time with these children! Furthermore, if you are currently not a volunteer and have a couple of hours to spare, whether being weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, I invite you to consider becoming an active volunteer in your community. Your hours can be donated anywhere, find a field that you like, and become an active volunteer. Get involved!

GORILLAZ x PLASTIC BEACH COVER ALBUM

Personally, I love their album cover. It caught my eye, reminds me of something, I just do not know what it is… Anyhow, The Gorillaz have always been a band that brought something new to the table. With that said, their new album drops March 9th. In a digital world, they keep it progressive and decide to offer an official Plastic Beach album mix through their website to give their fans a preview of whats to come on the album. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR x VOLUNTEER x SOUTH MOUNTAIN

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Today, a great amount of volunteers and I, donated our morning to gather together and clean up South Mountain Park. Phoenix’s mayor Phil Gordon was present during the volunteer event to congratulate us in our dedication to help out our community.

THE DREAM x FINISHED NEW ALBUM “LOVE KING”x CALLS IT HIS BEST WORK YET

The man who has either written or co-written such hits as J Holiday’s “Bed”, Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” and his own hit single “Rockin That Thang” from his 2009 solo album ‘Love vs Money’. Should be taken seriously when he says this is his best work yet.

In addition to his own album, The Dream is putting the finishing work on his wife Christina Milian’s new album ‘Elope’. Both albums are due out this year.

OPTiKX > BMW Odyssey

As most unknown to you all, I (Raidz) own www.optikx.net. Being that All Day & I share creative ideas, I decided to solely use my site for my design & photography portfolio.

What is OPTiKX? It is a variation of optics (just spelled differently), which means to have it pertain to, or use your vision/sight. All in all, I am illustrating eye candy for you.

Which brings me to my next update in this new found feature. This minivan is a Honda Odyssey. With a BMW E92 M3 front end!

VOLUNTEER x ASU HOMECOMING

This past weekend my cohort, the Doran Scholars and I, were part of the Arizona State University’s Homecoming Parade which was held in Tempe, at the ASU’s main campus.

Truthfully, I have never been a part of a parade before. This was a great experience. The crowd on the side of the road where cheering for us with great enthusiasm. This was definitely an experience I will not forget. I had a great time volunteering with my scholars and being part of this event. Shout outs to Mr. and Mrs. Doran who flew out from Michigan to be part of our parade. They are the donors of our scholarship, they play a huge role in our lives. Mr. and Mrs. Doran are the most loving and caring people I know. Thank you for all your support! Ya’ll are a huge reason why I am currently attending Arizona State University.

AUDUBON ARIZONA x ‘ALL DAY’

If you might recall about a month ago, Becky, a member of my cohort the Doran Scholars, forward me an email for an internship opportunity at Audubon Arizona. To cut things short, I applied for the internship, became a finalist, and got the position.

Audubon Arizona is a non-profit organization focusing emphasis on bird watching and the environment. I am responsible for lecturing and educating children about our environment, wildlife, the fundamentals of going ‘green’, recycling, and the importance of not littering.

Today we went ‘pond dipping’ which is a method to conduct an observation of water quality. Our goal was to temporary collect any living bugs or insects living in the pond. By doing so, we were able to critic the cleaness of the water based on the bugs or insects whom live there. I had such a great time. I love children, they mean the world to me. Can you believe I slipped into the pond three times? It was amazing how slippery the gravel around the riparian was. I probably pulled out about six children that had also slipped into the pond simultaneously.
