PICNIC x FOOTBALL x FRATERNITY SIGMA LAMBDA BETA

This weekend was an awesome experience, it was Sigma Lambda Beta’s annual picnic/football game with our brothers from Kappa Alpha Chapter (University of Arizona, in Tucson Arizona) Vs. Chi Beta Chapter (Arizona State University, in Tempe Arizona). We began our day by hosting a cook out at Papago Park, next to the Phoenix Zoo. We had delicious Hamburgers and Hot Dogs along with all sorts of chips and salads. Further down the day, we moved to another location where we played football. Of course, I was feeling a bit tired, so I took a nap while in the second quarter of the game. Unfortunately, our chapter lost on overtime, but overall, I had a great time…. p/s can you spot me out in our group photo?

SIGMA LAMBDA BETA x 1ST MEETING OF THE SEMESTER

As most of you all are aware, I have recently became a member of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated, Chi Beta Chapter, which is a social fraternity based in Arizona State University. Moreover, today was our first semester meeting were we gathered together to discuss our future planning toward our academic semester. After being involved with one of these meetings for the first time, I can gladly say I was proud of being a part of it and having a say in the table’s discussion. Their meetings are held in a very business like orientation and get straight toward their purpose intended. However, I was told today’s meeting was held out longer than usual; and that is because it was the first meeting of the semester. Few, gracious toward that! The meeting initiated at 8pm and ended around 11:30pm! Now, finally at home and feeling anxious to go to bed; have class in the morning. Goodnight all!

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR x VOLUNTEER x SOUTH MOUNTAIN

Today, a great amount of volunteers and I, donated our morning to gather together and clean up South Mountain Park. Phoenix’s mayor Phil Gordon was present during the volunteer event to congratulate us in our dedication to help out our community.

CAMPING WEEKEND X SIGMA LAMBDA BETA FRATERNITY

I arrived home yesterday afternoon after a great weekend from camping in Payson, Arizona. My brothers and I, from Sigma Lambda Beta, rented out a cabin to get away, relax, and enjoy one of our final weekends left from our winter break until spring semester initials at Arizona State University. I had such an awesome time! This place was hooked up!

NANA’S HOUSE…

I stopped by Niko’s nana’s house today because I owe Niko, member from Sigma Lambda Beta, the Captain, money from when we probated. Niko was kind enough to purchase my attire and mask, so now I was attempting to pay him back but no one was home. I did however, admire the Christmas lighting they have on their house.

Congratulations to me! I am a Beta! From the Chi-Beta Chapter at Arizona State University!
Wow, where do I begin? I realize most of you might be a bit shocked…When? How? Why?

Allow me to break it down to you real quick. For the past three years at ASU I have been knowing the Betas, which is a multicultural fraternity based on brotherhood, scholarship, cultural awareness, and community service. I have always kept in touch with them since my freshmen year at ASU, but I never really was interested in becoming a member and being part of the whole fraternity thing. My initial understanding of a fraternity was off, compared to how I see it now; I blame my initial understanding on the media and some on me for not being self-educated.

On another note, this was a secrete process which I could not inform anyone I was pledging to join, it is for that reason why I never mentioned anything about it to the AREA. The only thing I could say is that it took my other three members and I, 75 days, 1 hour, 35 minutes, and 4 seconds of hard work, time management, and education to become members. I am definitely excited! There are two videos of our probate; however, we are currently having technical difficulties uploading, but will be definitely posting them soon. Betas all day!
