The Nexus One by Google

January 7th, 2010 | By Raidz

On Tuesday, Google, announced their brand new phone, Nexus One at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES ’10) built by HTC. This phone is out now available for purchase here. Currently the only carriers that the phone is available through T-mobile at $179. You are also able to purchase an unlocked one for another carrier (AT&T) at $529. Currently the phone is on a GSM network, Which means that you need a SIM card to use it.

Pretty Nifty boot screen.

Later on in the Spring time, Verizon is getting the Nexus, along with Vodafone in Europe. No word for Sprint or AT&T as of yet. As of right now you are only able to get one from Google. Well that is of course if you do not shop on eBay or Craigslist.

The thickness of this phone is equivalent to a #2 pencil. Comes handily equipped with a 5 megapixel camera & built-in LED flash.

With the screen size ringing in at 3.7 inches, backed by a AMOLED screen.

Paired next to the Droid by Motorola.

Most notable feature that stands out to me, is what they call, Live Backgrounds. Which has an animated background on your phone! Isn’t that cool? Well maybe I am biased because I want to own a phone with live backgrounds.. But I am happy with my Palm Pre :-D

The Nexus One sports Google’s latest version of Android, 2.1 to be exact.

The Smart-phone mark has now changed. Moore’s law is starting to venture over to the cellular phone market now. Meaning that by the time you have your eyes set on something you like, something better is always in the works. Isn’t that how it always goes though.

This thing is very nice.

Motorola has something in the works rumored to be the Shadow.
